Donations from within the communities we serve (and from those outside of these areas) afford The Haven the opportunity to continue helping our clients meet vital needs. Situations often arise which grant funding does not cover. There are times when clients arrive at our facility with very little more than the clothing on their backs; and our current grant criteria does not create provisions for circumstances such as a parent needing diapers and formula for a baby, or for a client who has had to flee their home without any groceries or for gas to get to work. It is at these times that The Haven must rely on monetary and in-kind donations to adequately serve clients in need.

No. 1: We are seeking cell phones and ink jet cartridges to send in for reimbursement.  Every little bit helps!

The following includes a list of items we often need for clients but that are not covered by the grant funding we currently receive:
§         Cooking staples such as sugar, salt, pepper, seasonings, cooking oil, frozen juice, coffee, frozen and canned foods, dry milk, instant tea, tea bags, cereal, instant cereal, and pasta (to name a few)
§         Diapers and Pull-Ups (although currently we are in the greatest need for diapers in sized 2, 3, 4 & 5)
§         Baby items: Baby Tylenol, baby wash, baby wipes, Desitin, baby blankets.
**Please note: We can no longer accept car seats unless they are new.
§         Laundry detergent (preferably unscented for those who may have allergies), fabric softener, and dryer sheets
§         Toilet paper
§         Paper towels
§         Dish soap
§         Heavy duty (30+ gallon) trash bags
§         1 qt. and 1 gal. Ziploc bags
§         Toiletries and other accessories including soap (bar and liquid), shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste, hair brushes, cotton balls, Q-tips, nail polish, polish remover, makeup, hair accessories, blow dryers, straighteners, curling irons, etc.
§         Sanitary napkins and tampons

We are also always in need of Wal-Mart gift cards (and any cards from other local stores that offer them).  These cards enable us to pick up items such as diapers and groceries on an as needed basis.
